Kings Park Trio Charged for Drug Trafficking and Obstruction
Forty-year-old Arthur Higgs, his common-law wife Tamara Cooper and forty-five-year-old Michelle Higgs, all residents of seventh Street in Kings Park, were arraigned before Senior Magistrate Tricia Pitts-Anderson earlier today on charges of drug trafficking. The trio was arrested after being found in possession of a little over two hundred grams of cannabis.
While Cooper pleaded guilty to the marijuana charge and was fined eight hundred dollars, her common-law husband was charged for the offense of obstruction, for blocking a police officer from entering their residence to conduct a search. Despite Cooper taking the rap for weed possession the charges against the Higgs siblings were not withdrawn. They were both granted bail in the sum of one thousand dollars each, plus one surety of the same amount. They are due back in court on March thirteenth, 2023.
