News 5 website upgraded for research
Viewers who are familiar with News Five’s Website on the Internet will now find that doing research has become much easier. A new feature of the site now allows visitors to do a keyword search of every story broadcast since January thirteenth. The search can be done by topics, names or places. If you wanted to research statements made by Police Commissioner Ornel Brooks, for example, you would merely type in his name and then be presented with a list of dates his name appears. Click on any of those dates and up pops the particular newscast, complete with headlines, pictures and full text, faithfully transcribed from that evening’s newscast. The new service is expected to be particularly helpful to students and teachers, as well as politicians hoping to feed their egos or catch their opponents in a lie.
