Teacher’s College highlights achievements
While the kids at C.E.T. were looking toward the new millennium the students at Belize Teacher’s Training College were focussed on other activities.
It was a dream come true for any student… a time for teachers to entertain them.
The second annual Belize Teacher’s Training College Expo was held today on the campus on University Drive, under the theme “Going the distance for education”. According to Leroy Green there were several attractions that made the day educational and enjoyable.
Leroy Green, Organizer
“The purpose behind it is to sensitize the public on the various courses the students undergo at this institution. Since we have distance education it is also a feature in today’s exhibition.”
Q: “What types of display do you have?”
Leroy Green
“We have language arts display, literature, then there is a cultural display. Every class must have cultural food, music, dress that will be judged and a literature display that will be judged as a part of their literature course.”
But of course teachers could not have their day without their students. There was also a mini elocution contest where eight primary school students participated in various recitals.
Beside the special task of teaching, the teachers had a chance to show off their other talents and skills which will become a part of their class room activities in the future. Arreini Palacio for News Five.
