Cpl. Arturo Leal Arraigned on Additional Traffic Charges
Back in December, thirty-two-year-old Corporal Arturo Leal was charged for driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. Today when he appeared in the lower court, the officer was read another charge stemming from the incident in 2022. This is after his urine sample was returned from the lab and tested positive for alcohol concentration above the prescribed limit. Corporal Leal, who appeared unrepresented before Magistrate Mannan Dennison to answer four traffic related offenses, including negligent harm, drove motor vehicle without due care and attention, use of an unlicensed motor vehicle and drove motor vehicle whilst not being covered by a third party. The additional charges stem from a traffic accident that occurred between miles fourteen and fifteen on the Phillip Goldson Highway on December thirteenth, 2023.
