Chaa Creek named Caribbean Green Hotelier of the Year

In related news another Belizean company has been honored in the region, this time in the tourism field. Chaa Creek Resort of Cayo has been selected as the Caribbean Hotel Association’s Green Hotelier of the Year. The award, sponsored by American Express, is given to the Caribbean resort which has established the policies and infrastructure which best protect the environment and satisfy the needs of guests. The resort, which was one of the pioneer eco-tourism ventures in Belize, won from among nine finalists from all over the region. The honor will be formally presented to Chaa Creek at a ceremony to be held in the Bahamas on June sixteenth.
