Kolbe C.E.O: Having Law Enforcers as Inmates Poses No Security Threat at Prison

Virgilio Murillo

Over the past months, there have been two B.D.F soldiers that were remanded to the Belize Central Prison and on Monday, it was a former policeman who was sentenced to a three-year bid and a former coastguard member remanded for missing a court date in an ongoing case. That number is now at three, after one of the B.D.F soldiers committed suicide some months ago. But C.E.O of the Kolbe Foundation, Virgilio Murillo told the media today that having trained law enforcers as inmates does not pose a security threat to anyone at the facility.

“These guys will fall into line just like any other prisoner as far as I’m aware, and the only time they would find themselves getting into any trouble at all would be if they violate prison rules because they fall under the rules. They’re no different than any other prisoner, and they will face the same consequences once they step out of line.”
