Price of butane gas up by seven dollars

In the past four months, there have been four changes to the price of the cylinder of butane gas. The last three were decreases in the months of November and December of 2008 and in January of 2009. But it’s a whole new year and the price is creeping back up again; this time by as much as seven dollars. Today the price of butane in Belize City and Corozal is ninety-three dollars, while in Orange Walk the price is now ninety-four dollars. Residents in Belmopan and San Ignacio will now pay ninety-five dollars per hundred pound cylinder and in Benque butane now costs ninety-six dollars. Dangriga and Punta Gorda are the highest at ninety-seven and ninety-eight dollars respectively. The new prices do not include the delivery fee that normally ranges around two dollars.
