Inmate gets additional six years behind bars
An inmate already serving three months found out today that he will spend an additional six years in prison. Twenty-five year old Anthony Crawford got the bad news this morning when he was found guilty of Robbery in Magistrate’s Court. Magistrate Aretha Ford stipulated that the sentence will run consecutive to the one Crawford was already serving. The robbery in question occurred on July first 2008. Victim Mark Clark, told the court that he was standing by an alley on North Creek Road when Crawford approached, pointed a gun at his face and robbed him of his gold chain. The robber also demanded money and Clark says he handed over a hundred and ninety-nine dollars. During trial Crawford made a statement from the dock, but neither admitted or denied the charges… instead he simply asked the court for leniency.
