P.M. Briceño Exits H.O.R. during Opposition Leader’s Speech to Meet with Protestors

Prime Minister John Briceño

The Leader of the Opposition was halfway into his speech when Prime Minister John Briceño exited the Assembly Building to greet a group of protestors near Independence Hill. We will tell you more about that demonstration in a few. But first, following his brief interaction with them, we asked the Prime Minister why he chose to leave the debate while the Opposition Leader was making his contributions. His response was that the Opposition Leader is rambling and he is not missing much. Francis Fonseca, the Minister of Education also weighed in on the Opposition Leader’s almost two-hour long speech.

“You walked during the speech of the Leader of the Opposition?”

Prime Minister John Briceño

“I am not missing much, none of you are missing much. If you think that is more important than being out here you would have stayed there. But really, the Leader of the Opposition is rambling all over the place and I am trying to be very respectful to the Leader of the Opposition. The Opposition is in the Constitution and as such we should respect it. But, he has been rambling all over the place and makes no sense. But, I will be going back to listen to what he has to say.”

“I don’t mean to be impolite but in the mind of a has been rapper who is looking for relevance and credibility, complete fiction and fantasy. He spoke for almost two hours, completely without a sense of purpose or direction, made up his own facts, used his own statistics. We don’t know where he is getting these statistics, it is incredible. So how do you respond to somebody who is living in another world? They are operating in a world of fantasy and fiction, making up his own data to meet the story that he is trying to weave, this incredible tale he is trying to weave.”
