“Miss Y” Pageant set for next week
It may not be as prestigious as the Miss Belize Pageant or have the long history of Queen of the Bay, but when it comes to pure fun the “Miss Y” extravaganza is at the top of the charts. The annual pageant, for women over sixty, will be held on Friday April twenty fourth at the Belize City Center. Presented as a fundraiser by the YWCA, this year’s competition features six entrants who will model, perform and answer judge’s questions. The lucky ladies are Clarice Chimilo, Norma Young – not to be confused with Lady Norma Young – Ann Mckoy, Doreen Neal, Olive Flowers and Viola Myles, who by the way, is a sprightly ninety five year old. Tickets are on sale at the YWCA on St. Thomas Street. It’s good entertainment that the entire family can enjoy.
