Guatemalans are ready to remove bodega from jalacte

A bodega owned by a Guatemalan national remains standing in Belizean territory in the village of Jalacte. On January twenty-first, Prime Minister Barrow said that its owner, Leonel Arellanos and the villagers of Santa Cruz where the bodega will be relocated had threatened to attack if the bodega was moved. But there is information to News Five that Guatemalan authorities have indicated through a diplomatic note to the Belizean government that they are ready to oversee the removal of the structure along with the Organization of American States but it will be removed by the Government of Belize. Officials of the OAS, Guatemala and Belize are expected to discuss plans to remove the container. The bodega is still under BDF guard since its discovery and Arellanos has reportedly not had access to the area.
