Mother of the Accused and the Deceased Brothers Speaks

Miguel Encalada’s mother, Yolanda Encalada, was at the court today and she said that Miguel Encalada and Desiree Gonzalez Rowland had a loving relationship and that George Encalada Rochester had just moved in the area from Corozal days before he ended up murdered. Like the family of Desiree Gonzalez Rowland, Yolanda Encalada told us that she is also at a loss as to what might have happened that resulted in the murder of her daughter-in-law and one of her sons and the other son charged with the double murder.

“Both of my sons were loving. Desiree and Miguel had a nice, loving relationship. I don’t believe what the people are trying to plot on my son, but I lose two. I’m losing two sons. I have to bury one and we’re not rich. We don’t have the finance to bury my son. My son just come to live in Ladyville for one year now and he’s going under the ground so it’s so sad for his mom to face that.”

“Oh, I scream and I feel like I was getting crazy.”

“Did you all understand that Miguel was alive and the other one was dead?”

“I saw three of them on the floor so I thought three of them were dead noh. When my daughter called me from Libertad, she says three of them gone. So it’s so sad because people are going around and saying bad rumours about my sons but I know that my son, George Rochester just come close to Miguel for like eight days and he get murdered. And Desiree, I feel so sad for her. I give my sympathy to her mom. I heard she’s not doing as well as me, but I can fall down any moment with my pressure and my diabetes but the good Lord knows best.”

“We’re preparing for George but he didn’t have so many contributions so we have to try and get some help to bury him on Friday, take him back to Corozal.”
