Police Provide New Details in Ladyville Double Murder

Miguel Encalada

Thirty-nine-year-old Miguel Encalada was arraigned on two counts of murder on Monday.  His court appearance where he was unrepresented by legal counsel, followed the shooting death of his common-law wife and his younger sibling on April twentieth, at his home in Ladyville.  This morning, Assistant Commissioner of Police Hilberto Romero provided additional information on the progress of a criminal investigation into the double homicide.

“In regards to the double murder in Ladyville, we have since arrested and charged Miguelito Encalada, thirty-nine years old, of Ladyville for two counts of murder.  This is after an investigation was conducted, several exhibits and evidence were gathered from the scene.  That is a result of all that investigation put together.”

“People have been puzzling over the motive and there has been so much speculation, posting and everybody has a story.  However, I want to look at the gun licenses.  Are you able to say how long ago Miguelito Encalada had gotten a gun license?”

Hilberto Romero

“He had that license for a couple of months now.”

Reporter

“Is it true that, as far as you know, he had applied for gun licenses many, many times before and had been denied?”

Hilberto Romero

“I am not aware of that, no.”

Reporter

“Was he, I know he was a barber by profession, but was he known to traffic in illicit drugs?”

Hilberto Romero

“Not that we know of, no.”
