Jasmine Hartin Says Her Decision to Plead Guilty Was Ruled By Emotion and Made in Haste
Jasmine Hartin, who pleaded guilty to manslaughter by negligence on Tuesday, for the shooting death of senior police officer Henry Jemmott, says her decision was made in haste. In a press release issued today, Hartin said that the day of her case was fraught with emotion and uncertainty that resulted in her decision to plead guilty. Hartin states that the decision was made without the expected time to consult with her Canadian Senior Council. In the end, however, she said that the decision was the best possible outcome for all parties concerned. The press release, written by Hartin’s publicist, states in part, (quote): “After a long and painful battle, at times dealing with politics, power and corruption at its core, it is of course a great relief to finally put an end to this heartbreaking and tragic accident involving one of her dearest friends,” (unquote).
