Restaurant closed by Health Department
As criminal behavior goes, it’s not as dramatic as kidnapping, but if you’ve ever eaten a meal of rotten chicken you know that the results it produces constitute a crime against humanity… or at least the human stomach. And that’s just the way the health department feels. This afternoon health officers closed down the Yang Yang Restaurant on Orange Street after a large quantity of spoilt chicken and other foods were discovered in the kitchen. Officials of the Public Health Bureau have been tight-lipped about the incident, but sources tell News Five that the raid was the result of a complaint made to them that a foul smell was coming from the establishment. In a brief telephone conversation late this evening, Chief Public Health Inspector Sylburn Arthurs told News Five that the restaurant was closed immediately and that it would remain out of business until the proprietors can prove that they meet acceptable standards required to operate a food establishment.
