Dangriga Murder is the Result of a Previous Stabbing Incident
On Thursday night, we reported on the murder of thirty-five-year-old Elroy Quinonez. The father of four was a stone’s throw away from his home playing with two of his sons and their dog when a gunman came up to them and opened fire on Quinonez. It was a callous crime that has left the family traumatized. Today, Commissioner of Police Chester Williams told the media that the homicide is possibly due to a stabbing incident that occurred months ago. He went on to say that the alleged culprit is soon to be charged for the crime.
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
“At this time, the motive for that shooting seems to have been as a result of a stabbing that took place about two to three months ago in Dangriga where it is alleged that the now deceased Quinonez had inflicted stab wounds on the individual. Our investigators are working that matter intensely and we currently have the suspect in custody. We have recovered the murder weapon and we believe that by the end of the day today or tomorrow morning that person should be charged with murder.”
