Habets donate shoes to prison
They may call it the Hattieville Ramada but anyone who’s been a guest there can assure you that her majesty’s hotel is not the kind of resort you want to visit twice. But for a hundred and fifty of the prison’s inmates things may get a little bit more comfortable thanks to a donation from some local business houses. On Tuesday Brothers Habet and Habet and Habet donated one hundred and fifty pairs of tennis shoes to the Department of Corrections for distribution to those prisoners who need them. The shoes, valued at around five thousand dollars, had been gathering dust in the Habet warehouse and the proprietors figured they could do more good behind bars. It is not known if inmates will now be granted more exercise time outside their cells in order to make use of their new athletic footwear.
