Thieves in Burrell Boom Make off with ATM Machine
A burglary overnight in Burrell Boom Village resulted in thieves getting away with an ATM machine from Helen Wu’s Store. It’s a brazen act carried out by thieves who appeared to have been well-equipped when they broke into the building. They were able to pried open the entrance to the building and stole the entire machine with an undisclosed sum of money. Police say they are reviewing surveillance footage of the incident.

“On Monday, May 8th, 2023, police visited Helen Wu Store situated in Burrell Boom Village. There the police found out that a burglary occurred at the establishment and stolen was one ATM machine belonging to Heritage Bank. We are reviewing video footage as the investigation into this matter continues.”

“Any idea how these thieves were able to remove this machine?”

“They gained entry by forcing open the front door; thereafter, they made their way into the area where the ATM machine is located and they pried it open.”

“Do you know how much money was in the machine?”

“We do not know at this time. We are working to get the amount at this time.”

“I understand this is the second Heritage [Bank] ATM that has been targeted, and then another one was a Belize Bank ATM. Do you believe that it’s the same group of people going to all these ATMs?”
