C.X.C Reveals Leaked Exam Paper

The Caribbean Examinations Council, C.X.C., today revealed that an investigation into concerns that the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) Math Paper two was leaked on Wednesday, before the exam was sat on that day. Today, the Council announced that after communication with the ministries of education across the region, it has identified the country where the leak occurred. Registrar and C.E.O of C.X.C., Doctor Wayne Wesley, in a statement today, explained what took place.

“CXC has now concluded its investigation. The security measures which were implemented by CXC, these measures are now being used to validate and to check on when they are breaching. The security measures which CXC has put in place hav led to us locating the country as Jamaica and the examination center there, where the beef originated. In discussion with the Ministry of Education the matter will be dealt with following CXC’s security protocols. CXC and Regional Ministries of Education recognize that candidates have spent months preparing for their Mathematics Paper 2 examinations. The news of the security breach of the examination has caused much anxiety and concern. As a result of the breach, and the compromise of the examination as well as consideration for mental health and well being of all candidates and timely release of results along with matriculation required, CXC has determined that grades for this examination will be awarded using the modified approach. The modified approach entails assessment of the school-based assessment, which includes paper three to and paper one, which is the multiple choice paper. This decision was communicated to the regional ministries of education in our meeting this morning.”
