Patrick Harris Pleads Guilty to Manslaughter; To Be Sentenced July Third
Sand Hill resident, Patrick Harris is back behind bars after he pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the shooting death of Dillon Grinage. The incident occurred on December thirty-first, 2016 in Maskall Village at the junction of the Old Northern Highway. Grinage was shot multiple times and died shortly after while being taken to the K.H.M.H. Harris, on the advice of his attorney, Oscar Selgado, changed his not guilty plea to guilty, after the testimony of the Crown’s main witness – a man from the area who witnessed the fatal shooting. That witness testified that he saw Harris shooting Grinage. The witness said he had known Harris for over ten years prior to the shooting. Justice Ricardo O’Neil presided over the case in a trial without a jury. Justice O’Neil will hand down sentencing for Harris on July third.
