Three charged in shooting of 11 year old girl
Three young men were charged this afternoon in connection with Tuesday’s shooting of eleven year old Stacy Williams. Eighteen year old Mark Sutherland, his twenty one year old cousin Stuart Sutherland and seventeen year old Norris Leslie have been jointly charged with attempted murder, conspiracy to murder, dangerous harm and use of deadly means of harm. Leslie alone has been charged with aggravated assault on Lucius Myers. Myers is the man believed to have been the intended victim of the gunshot which instead hit Stacy Williams as the child played in her granny’s yard on Mopan Street. Stacy’s condition has improved today and doctors at Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital believe her injury is no longer life threatening. They do not, however, intend to remove the bullet which is lodged in the back of her neck as they are afraid that such an operation could risk leaving Stacy paralyzed. The three accused men will reappear in court on Monday.
