Veteran shoplifters in trouble again
Nokia Smith and Sasha Bowen, two veteran shoplifters with at least three convictions, pleaded guilty to charges of Handling Stolen Goods and Using Indecent Words when they appeared today in Magistrates’ Court. Smith and Bowen were also charged with Theft for the incident that occurred on Thursday. Magistrate Sharon Frazer gave the duo a suspended sentence for the theft and deferred sentencing until Monday. On February fifth, the women stole a can of Klim powdered milk and a set of nine volts batteries. It is alleged that the women used profanity against the officers who found them with the items. Smith is the mother of a two year old boy and Bowen has two children; a one year old and a five month old.
