Preachers Protest Gay Cruise, Two locals arrested for Sodomy
On Saturday a coalition of Church leaders led a rally and march against the impending arrival of the M.S. Leeward, and its estimated 900 homosexual passengers. Attendance was small and the demonstration went off without incident. It may or may not be a coincidence but this afternoon in Belize City police arrested two local men who were reportedly engaged in what is referred to as an “unnatural act.” The incident took place underneath the steps of the abandoned Courtenay House on Regent Street and was reported to police by some observant neighbours. No charges have yet been filed.
