Leslie Young Jr. Remanded for Attempted Murder
Nineteen-year-old Leslie Young Junior, a resident of Belize City, is on remand at the Belize Central Prison for the attempted murder of Sheldon Thomas. The incident happened several weeks ago when Thomas was shot while hanging out with a friend. Young appeared unrepresented in court earlier today, where he was read three charges, including attempted murder, use of deadly means of harm and dangerous harm. All three counts are for indictable offenses. No plea was taken from the accused due to the nature of the offenses and bail was also denied. Young remains on pretrial detention until August twenty-first. On May twelfth, 2023, police visited Hercelet Moody Street where they observed Sheldon Thomas suffering from gunshot injuries to the left thigh and lower abdomen. Found in the vicinity were a pair of slippers, along with two live rounds of ammunition.
