Teachers Union condemns gay cruise
Not all of today’s news revolved around the weighty occurrences at the Supreme Court. The ever popular issue of the gay cruise ship remained hot as one more Belizean organization felt compelled to put forth its views. The Belize National Teachers Union has issued a release condemning what it calls the unnatural practice of homosexuality and urges government to reverse its decision on the upcoming visit. The release warns that to allow a shipload of homosexuals to land here for even six hours would run the risk of endangering the moral and psychological environment of our children. The release did not comment, however, on the scores of hard working and dedicated homosexual teachers now living in Belize who spend more than six hours of every day with our children, with no apparent harmful effects, moral, psychological or otherwise.
