What Was the Misunderstanding of the Assignment on Juratowitch’s Part?

Eamon Courtenay

Both sides of the isle supported the Special Select Committee’s investigation of the Definitive Agreement, and both sides have pointed fingers at each other with accusations of corruption. When we had a break to speak with P.U.P. Senator, Eamon Courtenay following the senate meeting, we asked him what misunderstanding there could have been on Juratowitch’s end that the Prime Minister referred to this weekend. Courtenay referred us back to the PM.

Eamon Courtenay, Senator, P.U.P

“There is a lot of innuendo, there is a lot of slander, there is defamation that is about. The Senate needs to confine itself to the facts, to what has happened, seek the documents, seek the witnesses, and come and have a full hearing, and then report, and should not fall victim to the fake news and to the alternative narrative that is being propagated by certain persons. There are a lot of people who have been deeply involved in this in the United Democratic Party and have, all of a sudden, attempted to cleanse themselves of the stench of the corruption associated with it. It’s not that easy and I prefer to wait for the inquiry to investigate and let us see where this leads.”

“Ben Joratowitch misunderstood the assignment given to him by the government. What would the assignment have been to him, would you know?”

Eamon Courtenay

“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

Marion Ali

“The Prime Minister said that just this weekend, I believe.”

Eamon Courtenay

“You can question the Prime Minister about that.”

Reporter

“Sir, but as the Minister of Immigration, is it concerning, given that, I understand Mr. Juratowitch is one of our representatives at the Hague, so is it concerning that the PM would say he misunderstood an assignment?”

Eamon Courtenay

“It is not concerning to me.”
