Ulide Allen Back Behind Bars for Breaching Curfew
Tonight, a well-known street figure is back behind bars after he was accused of neglecting a judicial order. It is alleged that Ulide Allen, who was granted bail by the High Court for the offense of being a member of a gang and escaping from lawful custody, failed to abide by an order of the court requiring him to remain indoors between seven p.m. and six a.m. On June sixth, Allen was found near mile four on the George Price Highway at 9:15 p.m. Earlier today he appeared unrepresented before Magistrate Khiana Gordon where he pleaded not guilty the charge and attempted to explain to the court that his daughter was sick and that he was taking her to the hospital for respiratory problems. He says that police had him detained at the checkpoint since eight o’clock that night. For the offense of neglect of judicial order, Allen was remanded to the Belize Central Prison until September 2023.
