Escaped Prisoner Captured, Sentenced
It went viral last week on social media when a prisoner escaped from police in front of the Corozal Town Hospital, and the officer tripped and fell while chasing the escapee. The chase took place on Wednesday after the prisoner, Tyrone Reyes, duped the officer and told him he needed to see a doctor because he was not feeling well. But, as was captured on video, Reyes had other plans when he broke away as soon as the police mobile stopped on front of the hospital. He bolted in a bid to flee custody. Well, we have an update tonight. Reyes’s freedom was short-lived because he has been captured. And, as Assistant Commissioner of Police Hilberto Romero shared with reporters today, Reyes will also be a guest at the Belize Central Prison for the plot he carried out.
