Two Suspects Walk Away from Murder Charge in Shooting Death of Emert Flowers

Adrian Hernandez

Nineteen-year-old Adrian Hernandez and a seventeen-year-old minor were set free this afternoon, after they were charged jointly for the murder of Emert Flowers in December 2022.  Sixty-one-year-old Flowers was gunned down on his property on Racecourse Street and his son, Kyle Latchman, remains missing, presumed dead.  When the duo appeared in the lower court today, they were informed that the charges were being withdrawn due to a lack of evidence.  The director of the Prosecution Branch noted that after having perused the file, there was no proof of guilt to uphold the charge brought against them.  Hernandez was arraigned on January twelfth, followed by the teenager who was brought up on the same charge on February twenty-seventh, 2023.  During the deadly attack on Flowers, seventy-one-year-old Dusseldorf Waight was also injured.  It is believed that the intended target of the shooting was Kyle Latchman.  Following his release from custody, Hernandez spoke briefly with a court reporter.
