Distraught Mother Says Her Son, Tionne Paguada, Attempted Suicide

According to Amancia Martinez, the attempt that one of her sons made while in detention yesterday was not to escape from police custody, but to take his own life.  The distraught mother says that Tionne Paguada has tried on previous occasions to commit suicide.

“So that’s the reason yesterday I took it hard, because I am a mother.  Dehn took away my two sons lives, my only two sons, for that person’s life.  It hurts me, it’s something that hurts.  I don’t think I’m gonna live with it.  My son was not trying to escape, my son was trying to commit suicide yesterday.  He wahn throw ihself through di window fi kill ihself because this is not the first time he’s doing it.  Since my son was out of prison three years ago, and he was still a minor, he tried to kill himself two times in here, inside of my house because he said, “Mommy, I’m going to prison.  Dehn di send me to prison innocently.”  So that little boy was traumatized.  So what I do, I was like trying to be closer to my son and then this hurt, it’s something that I don’t think I will live with it.”
