Morgan Heritage in Belize for BIMFF
Grammy-winning Jamaican Reggae Band, Morgan Heritage arrived in Belize today ahead of the scheduled performance at the Belize International Music and Food Festival this weekend. The last time the band was in Belize was back in 2001, when the group performed at the then Novelo’s Convention Center in San Ignacio. The band’s music catalogue is extensive and includes songs like, “She is Still Loving Me”,” Down By the River” and “Girl is Mine”. We were at the Phillip Goldson International Airport this afternoon for the arrival of Peetah and Mojo Morgan.

“We have been doing this for a long time and we just want to share the love and the joy that we have been missing from each other for so many years and finally Morgan Heritage is back in Belize and we are excited about it.”
Mojo Morgan, Band Member, Morgan Heritage
“So the active members in Morgan Heritage right now are Gramps, Peter and I Mr. Mojo. Una and Lukes will always be Heritage for life they just not active on the road anymore. We have a new album that is out called The Home Land, so this summer tour for us, going to all these Caribbean Island, it is sort of a home coming, places we have not been in six, seven, in the case of Belize I think it has been over ten years, so we are really looking forward, I think like my brother Peter said, to share that energy and that vibration and love that we feel when we are doing what we do on that stage this Saturday.”
Paul Lopez
“What are some of the favorite tracks that Belizeans can look forward to this weekend?”
“I am happy we are here early. We are very interested to see when we get to the media houses what music Belizeans have been enjoying on high rotation over the last ten years, because it has been a minute, but we will figure it out as we go along.”
Peetah Morgan
“Of course we are going to introduce some of the new songs from the new album The Home Land and a few other songs that have been released over the years and definite we will be doing the classics and those classics that you have mentioned will definitely be a part of the show.”
