Elmer Martinez Back Before the Court, This Time for Theft
This morning, Belama resident Elmer Martinez, who also goes by the name Jovanni Bardalez, appeared before a Senior Magistrate in Belize City and was read a single charge of theft. It is the third strike for the thirty-one-year-old Dolphin Drive resident, who is accused of dishonestly appropriating a black trek brand bicycle on July seventeenth that was the property of Yhony Rosado. The bicycle is valued at one thousand, five hundred dollars. Martinez pleaded not guilty and bail was offered to him in the sum of two thousand dollars, plus one surety of the same amount which he has been unable to meet. Back on June twenty-sixth of this year, Martinez pleaded guilty and was fined one hundred and fifty-five dollars for possession of point seven grams of crack cocaine. And then on July seventh, he was fined one hundred dollars after he was arrested and charged for a mischievous act for giving police a wrong name.
