An Environmental Officer Remanded for Assaulting His Ex-girlfriend
Kevaun Evans is an environmental officer who is on remand tonight, after being accused of assaulting his ex-girlfriend with a firearm. This afternoon, Evans appeared unrepresented in the lower court where he was read a single charge of aggravated assault with a deadly instrument. The charge follows an incident that reportedly took place on April twenty-fourth involving the mother of his child and Rianna Robinson, his ex-girlfriend. While Evans pleaded guilty and was offered and met bail, an additional charge of aggravated assault with a firearm was brought against him. He pleaded not guilty; however, he was denied bail and remanded to the Belize Central Prison until August twenty-fourth, due to the nature of the offense. In early May, Evans’ ex-girlfriend was criminally charged for damage to property against Sheran Lewis, the mother of his child. Lewis was also charged a few days later for wounding Robinson. The twenty-four-year-old call agent pleaded not guilty to the charge and was offered and met bail of one thousand dollars.
