Africanized Bees Attack People on Douglas Jones Street during Busy Lunch Hour

A yard cleaner who was hired to cut grass in a yard on Douglas Jones Street today escaped the emergency room and so did a few patrons who were under a food tent buying lunch at midday, after a swarm of bees attacked them. Ever Vasquez told News Five that the motor from the weed whacker apparently startled the bees that were in a nest on the trunk of a tree in the yard. That sent them in all directions, stinging everyone in sight, including a man who was passing by in a wheelchair. Vasquez said that although he was being stung, he had to render aid to the man who had come under serious attack. The man had to be taken by ambulance to the K.H.M.H Emergency Ward for observation,

while Vasquez says he’ll have to return another day to finish the yard job.
