PM Briceño Says G.O.B. will Meet with Chamber

The Belize Chamber of Commerce and Industry argues that the business community has been experiencing significant increases in the cost of doing business and has been contending with increases in the cost of transportation, labor, licenses and other rigid processes.  The B.C.C.I. says it is ready to actively sit with the Briceño administration to conduct the necessary research and consultation.

“The BCCI, if they were interested also, and we will meet with them, I have sent Mrs. Garcia, my CEO has written a letter to them, but they also should have been prepared.  They should have also been cautioning their members and telling them that if you don’t do something, government is going to act.  We will meet with them and we will try to find how best we could address this issue, bit this issue of price gouging must come to an end.”
