Police Say Hinds Was the Intended Target of Shooting
On Friday, we reported on the shooting of a fisherman in the Antelope Street Extension area the night before. The attack on forty-nine-year-old Delbert Hinds left him with a bullet wound to his abdomen. We had reported that Hinds, a fisherman of Iguana Street Extension, had just left a relative’s yard at the corner of Iguana Street Extension and an unnamed street sometime before eight that night, heading towards Antelope Street Extension when he was shot. Today, the Belize Police Department’s Regional Commander of Eastern Division, A.C.P Hilberto Romero shared with reporters what police found when they arrived in the area that night.

“But it’s fair to say that he was the intended target?”
Hilberto Romero
“Well he was by himself so we believe, yes, he was the intended target.”
