Minister of Education Francis Fonseca also commented on the tragedy involving six-year-old Makaya Magdaleno. He says that while an investigation is being conducted, the Ministry of Education has reached out to the school to ensure that psychosocial services are provided to her peers when they return to school in September.

“I heard about that this morning; very, very tragic – deepest sympathies to her family and friends and the school community that she comes from. Very tragic accident; I understand that it is being investigated and I believe two of the drivers of the gas truck have been arrested or charged. So very tragic incident when we lose someone that young. We’ve reached out to the school to make sure that – you know classes are not in – but that her friends, when they return to school have an opportunity to get counselling that type of thing. So, sad situation.”
