New Information Emerges on Deadly Motorcycle Crash in Orange Walk
On July thirtieth, a deadly collision occurred following a high-speed chase by Orange Walk police of two men on a motorcycle in Orange Walk. Soon after the incident, reports started to circulate, alleging the police of knocking down the men and running them over. During the incident, twenty-year-old Jesus Sacul, a deliveryman, lost his life. But new information that has surfaced since the initial allegations suggests that the police never ran over the men. Surveillance video has shown that the motorcycle Sacul and his nephew, Jairo Guerra were travelling on ran into a concrete wall after it lost control when the police mobile clipped the back of the bike. Today, Commissioner of Police, Chester Williams told the media that the post mortem also negates that the police ran over Sacul.

“One person was there. And that one person who was there spoke to the police, but refused to give a statement. But what the person said to the police was consistent with what the police officers were reporting. And let me say that the post mortem examination was done and it revealed that the young man was not run over by the police vehicle. That’s not true, but we’re still looking at it. The team of investigators has put together the file and it went to the D.P.P’s representative in Orange Walk today for advice in terms of how we’re going to proceed with the matter.”
