Opposition Leader: “Complete Waste of Time Speaker…”

The Leader of the Opposition, Moses “Shyne” Barrow, was quick in firing back a response via email to the Speaker of the House of Representatives.  Woods also read Barrow’s response in which he referred to her as a “complete waste of time of a Speaker of the Honorable House”.

“The email was sent as six fourteen yesterday from the Leader of the Opposition, and it states. You Madam Speaker have exposed yourself to be a complete waste of time of a Speaker of the Honorable House. You repeatedly act as a shield for the government, shamelessly interpreting and misapplying the standing orders to protect the Prime Minister and his government from public scrutiny and accountability. When the U.D.P. was in government we were not afraid of the opposition. We allowed for no confidence motion as we are true protectors of democracy. With each erroneous ruling, you expose yourself as a complete bias speaker that will stop at nothing to protect the P.U.P. government. I was foolish to believe that a former P.U.P. Senator and candidate would be anything that a partisan hack, signed, Honorable Dr. Shyne Barrrow, Leader of the Opposition, MP for Mesopotamia. The response that was submitted to or addressed to me yesterday evening contains serial breach of standing order 38(5) imputing improper motive to the chair. It is also a breach of standing order 38 (8) which question the conduct of the chair. This is not the first time this has occurred. It constitutes a liable on the chair and calls into question breach of parliamentary privileges.”
