Murder in San Pedro; Youth Shot Dead at Front Door

There is quite a lot to report from the House Meeting in Belmopan today, but we start off tonight’s newscast with a murder that occurred in the nation’s number one tourist destination, La Isa Bonita. The victim, nineteen-year-old Keon Jamal Quiroz was shot dead sometime around two forty-five this morning. It happened at his house in the San Mateo area, where someone reportedly went calling, identifying himself as the police. Quiroz opened his door and his killer fired multiple shots at him. Quiroz collapsed and died at the scene. Residents of the area were awakened from their sleep when a burst of around ten gunshots broke the silence of the night. When they looked to see what it was, they saw Quiroz lying in the doorway of his residence. Police have not indicated whether they have any leads or suspects as yet, or what was the motive of this latest killing. We’ll follow up on this story in Monday’s newscast.
