Police on Indictment for Allegedly Perverting Course of Justice

Herman Ramos

Earlier today, a police officer on interdiction for allegedly perverting the course of justice was provided with full disclosure in his case. Twenty-nine-year-old Police Corporal Herman Ramos is accused of taking a nine millimeter pistol from thirty-three-year-old Mervin Domingo, after Domingo discharged the firearm in public. Reports are that on the morning of October, twenty-eighth, 2022, police responded to reports of shots fired in front of Marina Towers on Newtown Barracks. When they arrived on the scene, they learned that someone exited Thirsty Thursday Night Club and boarded a van. Shortly after, several shots were fired from the moving vehicle into the air. Police intercepted the van on Douglas Jones Street with five occupants inside. Police say that in the presence of the five occupants, a search was done inside the van which led to the discovery of one nine millimeter live round and an expended shell. None of the occupants were able to present a license; as a result all five occupants were detained. Domingo then admitted that he was the one who fired the shot outside of Thirsty Thursday with his license firearm. Domingo also admitted under caution that after he fired the shots, the gun was taken from him and taken home. Surveillance footage caught PC Ramos removing Mervin Domingo license firearm out of the van. The gun was later located at Domingo’s house. Today, PC Ramos was informed that his case will be dealt with on indictment in the High Court. He was provided with the remainder of his disclosure being three compact discs and ten pictures. PC Ramos is preparing to defend himself in court come November first, the date his trial is set to begin.
