EU & U: Two Belizeans Win Erasmus Mundus Scholarships

Belizeans Giann Vasquez and Tyler Eck were awarded the prestigious, fully-funded European Union’s Erasmus Mundus Scholarship for 2023. Vasquez and Eck will pursue joint two-year master’s programmes in the fields of conservation, science; technology and engineering at leading universities across Europe, beginning in September. The two other scholars are from Jamaica. The scholarship is designed to foster educational enrichment and intercultural understanding and covers the cost of students’ participation, travel and living allowance for the duration of the master’s degree program. The application period for the Erasmus Mundus scholarship opens once again in October of this year.
