Ellis Arkliss is Shot During Armed Robbery

Ellis Arkliss

There was a robbery near mile twelve on the George Price Highway on Friday that resulted in an employee of Grace Kennedy Belize being injured by gunshots.  Ellis Arkliss and his sidemen were en route to Belize City when they were ambushed by several persons inside a vehicle.  The men fired multiple shots at the cargo truck which careened into a nearby ditch.  The sidemen fled into the nearby bushes unscathed, however, Arkliss was wounded.  The culprits then stole a black knapsack containing personal items.  Prompt police response led to the getaway car being intercepted on the John Smith Road.  Assistant Commissioner of Police Hilberto Romero provides additional details.
