Mexican National Javier Martinez is Expelled from Belize
Thirty-one-year-old Javier Martinez, a Mexican national who was detained by police along with six other men last Sunday, was slapped with another charge when he appeared in court earlier today. On Monday, Martinez pleaded guilty to the offense of failure to present himself to an immigration officer upon arrival into the country. He was fined one thousand dollars which he was ordered to pay forthwith. Upon doing so, he was granted a removal order for an expulsion at a reasonable time. But that was not case. Instead, Martinez was returned to custody and arraigned on another charge for failing to comply with the conditions of an employment permit. He pleaded guilty to the charge, was fined and escorted out of the country immediately.
