Woman Murdered Inside Her House in Cayo
A woman was murdered inside her house in Cayo on Sunday night. Around seven-thirty on Monday morning, police responded to Tres Puntas Road in San Ignacio Town. There on a bed, they found the body of fifty-two-year-old Danielle Parraton with cut wounds to the neck. A post mortem examination conducted on Tuesday certified that she died of asphyxia caused by compression on the neck. In addition to the autopsy, a toxicology report is also pending. Reports are that Parraton’s daughter left the residence and tried to travel out of the country. Tonight, police informed that based on investigation and advice, they have formally arrested and charged Mahault Claudette Jarossay for the crime of manslaughter. Today Commissioner of Police, Chester Williams shared what police have on the matter.
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
“Police received a call of an apparent suicide in the San Ignacio area, the call came from a daughter who alleges that her mother had just committed suicide and that she was on her way to the airport. She and her mother are both Canadian national, and so we found the call very strange and so we had notified the airport to stop the woman if she would arrive there. That is the daughter, while police went and made checks at the home. Upon arrival the body of the mother was found in the preliminary state of decomposition. It was taken to the morgue on Boom Road, where a post mortem was conducted yesterday, and the post mortem revealed that the mother had some broken ribs and some cuts on the wrists. According to the pathologist, the injuries are consistent, not with suicide, but rather more with homicide. And so the data is being interviewed by the police to ascertain exactly what may have transferred with her mother.”

Hipolito Novelo
“So you said that investigators do not believe her story.”
Chester Williams
“Yes, we don’t believe her story.”
Hipolito Novelo
“Do investigators have in mind or are considering an accomplice?”
Chester Williams
“At this time, no.”
Hipolito Novelo
“Was there any sort of like altercation or signs of altercation in the bedroom or in the house?”
