Asian Businessman Shot During Robbery in PG
An Asian businessman was injured during an armed robbery that was caught on surveillance footage over the weekend. The incident took place last night in Punta Gorda Town as the proprietor was closing up his restaurant for the night. During the robbery, the restaurant owner was shot in the wrist by one of two men who entered the business brandishing firearms. Assistant Commissioner of Police Hilberto Romero provides the details.

“On September third, around 11:05 p.m., police responded to a robbery report at Queen Street, Punta Gorda Town. Upon their arrival, they found Jian Fu Chen with a gunshot injury to the wrist. Chen reported that he was at his restaurant closing the shutters when two male persons entered, armed with firearms. A struggle ensued and he was shot to the wrist. Thereafter, one of the male persons went to the cash pan and stole an undisclosed amount of money. Thereafter, both male persons fled from the area. Chen was taken to the hospital where he was treated and is on a stable condition. We are reviewing video footage in regards to this investigation.”
