Leroy Ramsey Busted with Gun during Carnival

Tonight, Leroy Ramsey is spending his first night behind bars after he was remanded to the Belize Central Prison for firearm offenses. The thirty-seven-year-old North Creek resident was busted on Saturday during the Carnival Road March with a loaded nine millimeter pistol with five live rounds in its magazine. He was arrested and charged for not having a license and today, he appeared unrepresented before the court where he was slapped with one count each of keeping an unlicensed firearm and unlicensed ammunition. In court, Ramsey pleaded not guilty to both charges, but due to the nature of the offenses, bail was denied and he was remanded into custody until November thirteenth, 2023.
