PC Samuel Bonilla charged with attempted rape…

Still on the courts, Corporal Samuel Bonilla was arraigned in the San Ignacio Magistrates Court for Attempted Rape, Harm and Aggravated Assault. Bonilla pleaded not guilty to the charge and was released on a bail of five thousand dollars and two sureties of the same amount. According to investigations, Bonilla and several other officers visited a bar in Santa Elena to conduct a search at the premises, but while it is claimed some officers did not enter the premises, Bonilla did and the victim alleges he forced himself on her. News Five understands that Bonilla has since been suspended from duty and is awaiting an official letter from Police Headquarters in Belmopan. Bonilla is due back in court on January eighth 2010.
