Senior Counsel Adolf Lucas Represents Attorney Oscar Selgado
We also heard from Senior Counsel, Adolf Lucas Senior, the attorney representing Selgado. Lucas says all the evidence that the Director of Public Prosecution has led up to this point are secondary and insignificant to the substantive matter. He gave us further details of today’s proceedings.
Adolf Lucas Sr. SC, Attorney-At-Law
“The prosecution who opened the case and called witnesses just to prove part of the case and when the prosecution, crown closes it case then we will loop it then it is for us to open our defense.”
Paul Lopez
“Will you be able to comment on the sort of witness and evidence they are leading?”
Adolf Lucas Sr. SC
“The evidence is to say one that the exhibit is missing, that Giovanni charged for prohibited firearm and ammunition but it is still peripheral.”
Reporter
“Can you explain the aspects of void dire.”
Adolf Lucas Sr. SC
“It is a trial within a trial. They are going to bring in one witness to show that Giovanni Ramirez is in fear to come to court. If the judge rules he is feared to come to court they are going to read his statements. But, Mr. Selgado will have his chance to give his evidence in that void dire.”
Reporter
“Will you be able to speak about the aspect of the missing documents and how that relates to the main case?”
Adolf Lucas Sr. SC
“It seems that two policemen are going to say that they hear, not the file, it is the recording, the disk. So if it is found that the disk is missing, which is suppose to have what Ramirez said to them in the statement, because according to him he recorded, made record of what he and Selgado conversed about. So if they don’t find that two police men are going to say that they have looked at the recording because they have made a disclosure. But that would be another matter for the defense.”
Paul Lopez
“So at this point what I am gathering from you is that all evidence that are being led, all evidence is all periphery and there is nothing.”
Adolf Lucas Sr. SC
“Substantive and that is good. They can show all evidence in their case but there is nothing solid as yet.”
