Second Shooting in PG in 4 Weeks, One Man Injured
A shooting incident in Punta Gorda Town over the weekend has left one man injured, amid what is believe to be a rivalry between two groups in that southern municipality. Forty-six-year-old Danny Martinez was the victim of an armed attack when an unknown assailant emerged on a motorcycle and opened fire in his direction. Martinez was wounded during the gunfire and remains hospitalized where he is in a stable condition. ACP Hilberto Romero shares additional details.

“On Friday, October 6th, 2023, Punta Gorda police responded to a shooting incident at Punta Gorda Town, on West Street, upon their arrival, they found Danny Martinez, forty-six-years-old, with gunshot injury. He was taken to the hospital where he was admitted in a stable condition. Information is that he walking when he was approached by a male person on a motorcycle who fired several shots towards his direction. He is in a stable condition at the hospital and an investigation into this matter continues.”
